Full-Time Greenkeeper
The Braidwood Servicemen’s Club, located in the picturesque township of Braidwood, is seeking a qualified and motivated Greenkeeper to uphold and enhance the high standards established by our team.
Braidwood offers a unique lifestyle opportunity, situated just 50 minutes from Batemans Bay, one hour from Canberra, and three hours from Sydney.
Our facilities include:
• A nine-hole golf course featuring a Rainbird automated irrigation system
• Two well-maintained bowling greens
• Gardens and green spaces
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine turf maintenance including mowing, edging, fertilising, and irrigation to ensure optimal playing conditions
• Implement turf management programs covering pest control, weed eradication, and disease prevention
• Prepare and maintain all turf surfaces across the golf course and bowling greens
• Operate and maintain turf equipment and machinery to ensure reliability and safety
• Collaborate with the team on course improvement projects such as bunker renovations and landscaping upgrades
• Maintain high standards of safety, presentation, and cleanliness across all facilities
• Supervision, mentoring and direction of an apprentice and volunteers
• Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors
About You
• Previous experience as a Greenkeeper or in a similar role (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of turf management practices, irrigation systems, and fertilisation techniques
• Skilled in operating and maintaining turf equipment and machinery
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or equivalent qualification)
• Current driver’s licence and ChemCert accreditation
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivate
